Installing KDE 3.2.1 on Redhat Linux 8.0?
Hi,
I've recently dug out an old copy of Redhat Linux 8, and installed it onto an unused computer. I've been using Windows up until now, but I thought I'd give Linux a try, 'cause I've heard a lot of good things about it. I would like to know if anyone has had any experience of upgrading KDE on Redhat 8, as the version that is included looks pretty dated. I visited the KDE website, but was a bit confused by all the packages available? (Baring in mind I know very little about linux os in general) Is there an installer available that just comprises of one executable like a windows exe, that will install everything? Thanks for any responses in advance mlota |
F*** it !
If you are new to linux it would be a nightmare for you to upgrade from RH8's KDE to KDE3.2.1 I'd really encourage you on installing Mandrake 10 (even when I've been using RHat for 5 years!). |
