installing Joli Os over Linux Mint Julia 10..LXDE
Hello everyone..I have been looking at small Distro's for mu MSI wind 160dx and have finally chosen Joli Os.
have installed Joli os on USB stick with the USB installer key...followed the instructions ..they said to go to "the Terminal" and put in commands..I must be thick..because everytime I try to use Terminal it comes up with message..no such file exsists...I have nightmares about the "Terminal"...joke.. I love Mint and will install it on my desktop after Netbook is running on another distro...I am not partitioning drive ..full install.. I just do not need a big distro on Netbook.. only surfing and emails ..and Yahoo Messenger... Thank you in advance for any help.... ps..I do not know much about Linux yet... |
I'm not familiar with the specific system (Joli OS) you refer to but, there must be a menu somewhere for you to select to open a terminal. What are you specifically trying to do when you get the message "file does not exist"? What file(s) are you trying to access? What commands are you trying to use? To what purpose?

Linux
Note: If you're running Joli OS, Jolicloud USB Cretor is available in the App Center. Add it to your dashboard and go directly to the step 4. The Linux installation program requires Python 2.4 or later. Python is standard on most modern Linux desktops. If you don't have it, install the 'python' package according to your Linux distribution's instructions. Open a terminal and go to the directory where you downloaded jolicloud-usb-creator-1.2.0.sh: cd /the/path/to/your/directory Change the script permissions: chmod a+x jolicloud-usb-creator-1.2.0.sh Run the program (at this stage you will be asked to enter your administrator password): ./jolicloud-usb-creator-1.2.0.sh Connect your USB key to your computer. In the Jolicloud USB Creator window, click Browse to find and select the Joli OS ISO in your system. Select your target device: the USB key you have inserted should be automatically detected. Click Create to create your Jolicloud USB. usb5.png Hello this is what it says to do and in Terminal ..I forget the exact words...but is says no file exsists...I have to find the download ..the key.... Thanks for your help Yancek.. |
