if you mean "did you install the knoppix on the flash drive" then yes, I installed it on the flashdrive using the live cd.

i don't know what a persistent overlay is, is that the one that appears every bootup saying "do you want to create a (folder) to save your documents?"

and to make the plugins dir for ~/.mozilla just 'mkdir ~/.mozilla/plugins' then 'cp libflashplayer.so ~/.mozilla/plugins' and it should be there. that is i'm assuming you extracted the tar from adobe
