Installing Fedora Core
Hey guys, I am a complete newbie to Linux, but am getting ready to try it out using Fedora Core.
I downloaded the image from the website and burnt using Nero. I have created the new partition using Partition Magic. All that works fine and I was able to boot into the installation screen perfectly. After selecting my keyboard type and language, it then asks me for the media type which I am installing from, so I selected Local Disk Drive, and clicked on OK, but a message is returned that Fedora Installation Disk is not present. Can someone please assist me in installing. BTW - I am installing on a notebook |
Hello seanbee,
I think you need to select CD/DVD or similar instead of Local Disk Drive. Thanks, Kirtmaan. |
Sorry the option is actually Local CD-ROM and when I select it the message is The Fedora Core CD was not found in any of your CD-Rom drives.
The available options are: Local CDROM Hard Drive NFS image FTP HTTP |
Hello seanbee,
I think that your CD is not properly readable. Can you try with a Freshly burnt CD of FEDORA ISO ? Thanks. Kirtimaan. |
Ok i will try to re-burn later
