Hi love2 and welcome to LQ.

Are you using a browser? You can change the settings of the browser to not save in the default location and instead to allow you to specify where to save the file. Or if you are using the command line, then it will download to wherever you tell it for a destination file. If you are using a command line, please show the command. If you are using a browser, please try to reconfigure so it asks you where to save downloaded files. If you can't find that, then please tell us what browser you are using and we'll see if we can tell you how to configure it this way.

Might it help to (as I do, CLI only!) use: wget? Like:
wget http://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kern...-4.10.6.tar.xz
