Installing Drivers for MX410 (for Scanner & Printer)

I need a step by step instructions as to how to install the Scanner & printer drivers I have downloaded the file to my home directory. I am extremely new to the Linux world; so I need some hand holding with the steps. I am not a programmer, however I understand how to get to Terminal. I need help asap, I can't get my work done.

Just connect the usb
Everytime I connect a printer in debian it prompts me to download driver & installs it. After prompt there will be a list to scroll thru.

After I posted my concern I had solved my problem... and No Eddy it wouldn't prompt me. Here is what I had to do:

1- Go to http://www.canon-europe.com/Support/...ownload&page=1

This site will give you the drivers for the Scanners and the printer for Cannon MX410; make sure you download these in your home directory file not in your download file.

2- Next go to the hone directory file and extract the files right where you are, you will see additional folders open up as well as other files. Important to see the folder for the Scangear and for the Printer; these folders will be named something similar to the downloaded files you got from the Canon site.

3. Now that files has been extracted and the folders has been made you will then go the Terminal and cd(change directory) to where the folders are, and then change directory into each other folder and type in at the command prompt... $ sudo ./install.sh

4. After you have down this in both of the folder you can now come back to the Linux desktop and click on the start button and then click on the run command and type in scangearmp it will either have the your printer there or you can search for the printer. But in my case the name of my printer MX410 was already there and all I had to do is hit go and the program opened up.

I hope this helps everyone New to UBUNTU or LUBUNTU who has a Canon MX410 Printer & Scanner... It took me 3 days to nail down all the proper and correct information.
