Installing downloaded programs
When I download an app that i want to install, I can't seem to finally get it to work...
I'm using Redhat 9 and KDE... I create a directory using Konqueror, extract the files there, open a terminal and CD to the location, type "make all" at the command line... Then what? How do I start the program? I can't find and entries in my menu, no icons on the desktop and no obvious executbles to run... The testfile I used was the latest version of blender. Also, I can't get browser plugins like flash to install either... |

It appears that the program installed with no problem, but how do I start it?
No shortcut on the desktop, nothing in the menu... |
