Installing debian
 

Guys am new to linux. My problem is I cannot install any of the debian(ubentu,mint) on my pc.after the installation finish it wont boot. I changed my harddisc but no use I think its my motherbord problem my bord is intel 915pdt.

How you know it wont boot?. Any error message? Your machine may boot but may be display driver issue?. Tell us more about the problem. Which version of Debian/Ubuntu/mint you are trying to install?. .e.g if it is Debian, Then tell us about its version e.g Debian "Squeeze" which is normally 6.0. And any error message during install.??

I tried to install mint 8.0 but after finishing installation it rebooted and it jest showing a blinking curser.same thing happend in ubentu 10.0

Why are you using older versions of the distributions? Newer ones may work better.

Also we need more information. Computer specs would help as would any error messages you may be getting

I dont know much about Mint, for Debian/Centos/Ubuntu there is always grub screen after POST. It seems you are not able to even see Grub screen?. It seems there is something wrong with GRUB/Boot loader or HDD. It is not able find boot loader on HDD. Did you tried another version of GNU/Linux e.g. Debian squeeze or Ubuntu?.. Make sure HDD are properly connected and GRUB is installed on appropriate HDD/partition and that partition is bootable. If more than one HDD, make sure that HDD is in the proper boot sequence in BIOS settings. It seems some how your systems is not able to boot becoz of boot sector/HDD issue.

I changed my hardisc but same problem.some times in mint it shows grub loading.
but I can install fedora.

Try booting in verbose or failsafe mode (not sure what Ubuntu is calling it these days -- you may need to hold down left shift to get to a boot loader prompt in Debian/Ubuntu). I really hate it how many Linux distros hide the boot messages by default. It makes it much more difficult to diagnose what is going wrong in cases like this, unless you know how to enable diagnostic messages.

I think the grub is not compatible with my motherbord

You have to check in Bios to see if "No Execution bit" is enabled, if so disable it.

in my bios there is no option like that
