Installing Debian 4.r4 onto USB Stick FROM boot DVD

Is it possible to install Debian 4.r4
to a 1 gig USB stick using the Debian 4.r4 DVD discs
(Got three of them)

Ive been reading for the last 24 hrs on google
web search different ways and methods of installing
Linux to a USB stick and nothing is working at the moment

Several sites mention how to use Grub and Lilo
to a USB stick but nothing seem to boot up.

The two systems I am using to make the USB Boot/installed
Linux supports Bootable via USB.
(Since both boot from USB DVD burner)

The Debian 4.r4 DVD Disc seem to copy a lot
of files onto the USB stick using Standard
non gui install but it didnt copy the MBR
or GRUB by the looks of things

It detects the USB Stick fine and can partition it.

Why can't Linux Distros install CD/DVD Discs
work out that your installing to a USB Stick
and copy the SYSLINUX/MBR/GRUB/Lilo needed
files as part of the actual install phase ?

Thanks for any help :-)

one easy method is and I am not joking seems to me the easiest :-)
If you've got a Notebook it far easy, remove the internal HDD just plugin the USB Stick
Boot the Debian Install Media and perform an Installation & you're done.

I will try that , its not that much hassle to
take the lid off and unplug the drives .

I might of found a soluution to instal Debian 4.R4 onto
my Asus EEE USB stick by using EEEOS (Debian for SD/USB on EEE)

But I am still needing to create a
Debian Linux Installed USB stick for genearl PC useage.
