Installing Cisco VPN Client on Fedora Linux 3.6.11-4.fc16.i686

I am attempting to install the Cisco VPN client version 4.8.02.0030 on Fedora Linux 3.6.11-4.fc.i686 and receive the following error - Failed to make module "cisco-IPsec". All research indicates that patches may be required, however I have found no patch for this client version. I did find Cisco client version 4.8.01.0640 and the patch which I downloaded and attempted to implement. Following the instruction I attempted to use the command string "patch <vpnclient-linux-4.8.01-64bit patch" and receive the following error "bash: patch: command not found". That indicates that the "patch" command does not exist and I am unable to locate a patch command anywhere.

Does anyone have method of installing the Cisco VPN client? I am somewhat new to Linux and am being charged at the office to maintain three Linux servers which currently are running with limited intervention on my part.

Thanks in advance for any assistance that can be provided.

Bob

You do NOT install that on fedora 16
Fedora 16 is 4 versions out of date and has been UNSUPPORTED for over a year!!!!
there is a years worth of SECURITY fixes missing

Warning:
DO NOT USE A UNSUPPORTED VERSION of a operating system!!!

install Fedora 20
then in July or August REINSTALL with Fedora 21
then six months after that do a new install with fedora 22
