installing apt


trying to install apt, i downloaded the file and run

rpm -iV apt-0.5.5cnc6-fr0.rh80.1.i386.rpm, hit return and get a blinking cursor. i thought installing rpm packages was easy?

any help would be cool

as root type ::
rm -rf /var/lib/rpm/__db*
then...
rpm -vv --rebuilddb
and then retry rpm -ivh package.rpm
