Installing a module

I need to use the modules 8390.o e ne2k-pci.o in Gentoo 2.6.7. I look in /lib/modules/..../drivers/net and they arent there. I try to copy them from the boot Cd, but it didn't work When I try modules-update it says they are not ELF objects.
Any idea of what to do?
