Installing a BCM4303 WLAN controller on Ubuntu 10.04

I got an older computer from a friend who had Windows XP as an operating system. I installed Ubuntu 10.04 on it, but cannot get the wireless controller to work. It is a BCM4303. Yes, it is an old one. So far I have spend virtually nothing on the computer. Ubuntu installed without a hitch as far as I can tell with the exception of this WIFI problem. I have searched the forums but got no matches. Perhaps I am using the wrong key words. Can anyone offer a solution or point me in the general direction. Thanks. Oh yes, the controller is a 802.11b.

Thanks for the response Drakeo. I have already activated the Broadcom B43legacy wireless driver and rebooted but when I disconnect the wired connection and click on the network icon in the top panel to choose a wireless network, it tells me that the wireless is disabled. How do I enable it?
