Just DL'd 2008 ver and would like to know if there is any way to install it and keep my old programs and settings? Do I need to backup these files and restore after the new install?
Thx in advance

I'm guessing Mandriva - very little detail in that post!
Run an upgrade and don't format /home etc

You are correct, it is Mandriva2008. Thanks for the quick response. Now for the next stupid question. Where does upgrade show up? I booted from the new disk and didn't see that as a choice.

Always back up before you do any type of upgrade. If you dont you may lose everything.
