Installed UNR.. can't get Windows 7 back

Hello Guys!

Hope someone can help me. (Linux Noob here) I just installed Ubuntu Netbook Remix (the latest one off the official site) and had it installed on my Acer Aspire one Netbook. My netbook had Windows 7 prior to installing UNR. I managed to get a partition for UNR and installed it from the USB and just went with the steps (never gave me an option to install alongside Windows, since I booted using the UNR image from the USB).

so got UNR working but the problem is that there seems to be no option to boot to Windows 7. My netbook boots straight to UNR. I know I have to edit the GRUB or something but I have no idea how to even do this.

How do I setup UNR so that I get the option to boot with either UNR or Windows. I previously installed Jolicloud and it was simple enough that it gave me the option to boot to either Jcloud or Win 7. How do I do this with UNR? I appreciate the help! Thanks!

Sincerely,
ROn

Are you sure you never deleted the windows partitions? Did you manually partition the drive? Which option did you select while partitioning?
What you can do is, paste the output from
Code:
sudo fdisk -l
That will tell if you deleted the windows or its still there.
Also give the contents of menu.lst file.

Ron,

As mentioned above, make sure you didn't wipe the Windows 7 partition when you installed UNR. Check out this site, http://www.hackourlives.com/dual-boo...erick-meerkat/ it has a very in-depth tutorial on dual booting Ubuntu and 7. Granted, the instructions are written for Ubuntu not UNR but they should be somewhat interchangeable. Hope this helps.

Hey there linuxlover.chaitanya! thanks for the help. yep, Windows is still there since I can still access my files and everythin on it. Before I installed UNR i already partitioned my drive in windows.

swampthing001 - thanks! I will also try the link you suggested.

Goodluck to me!
