installed slim 1.3.2 now can only log in as root
Distro: Slackware14 x86-64
I just installed slim as my login manager via slackbuilds. After altering /etc/rc.d/rc.4 to execute slim & rebooting I only have the option of logging in as root.
checking /var/log/slim.log shows
Code:

/usr/bin/xauth: file /var/run/slim.auth does not exist
When I go to my users /home dir the file .Xauthority is already present but .xsession wasn't so I decided to copy roots .xsession & changed the permissions accordingly (i guess not)
after making those changes now i get:

/usr/bin/xauth: file /var/run/slim.auth does not exist
I guess my next move should be to change those files again then deal with:
Code:
/usr/bin/xauth: file /var/run/slim.auth does not exist
What am I missing here?
I originally tried installing slim 1.3.5 but I couldn't figure out which file to patch so I went with 1.3.2
