Installed Slackware 12.2 -now can't get to the desktop!!?

Although I'm not a complete newbie-I am having a problem.....Installed slackware 12.2, rebooted, hit enter, started loading fine.... then it says -bzlogin(bz=me).
If I don't do anything it sits there, if I enter "root" + password I get prompt....What am I supposed to do??
How do I get to Desktop??

From that point, type in 'startx' to start the X window system. But first, read the SlackBook and Slackware Linux Basics to learn about setting up a regular user account before doing this.
