Mandrakes site has an A to Z of mandrake linux - not sure if you have to be a club member though?

p.s. most of the available books are "non-specific" - though if you check out amazon, then you will find stuff on say, redhat, or debian and so on

FYI I and a few others here on this board have had the dreaded

error, and the only solution seems to be to reinstall Mandrake, or at least force reinstall just the X packages.

I've tried reinstalling twice with no luck. I think I may try one more time and then try Red Hat (again). And then maybe (and I pray that I don't have to) buy XP or 2000. I wish it could just install correctly!

Did you download the cds? If so did you checksum them for errors in downloading and in burning?

Yes, I downloaded the cds & no, unfortunately I didn't test them. How do I go about doing that? I have got an error about it not being able to install the games part of KDE but that's all.
