Installed desktop on notebook??
 
I installed kubuntu on my notebook. could someone tell me if i can migrate to the notebook version of ubuntu or should i just leave it?

If by "notebook version" you mean the Ubuntu netbook remix, it was discontinued about two years ago.

If you wish to use a different desktop environment/window manager from KDE, you can just download and install it exactly as you would for any other computer, assuming you aren't running out of HDD space.

UNR (Ubuntu Netbook Remix) was discontiuned for 10.04, but was then renamed to UNE (Ubuntu Netbook Edition), which came out for 10.04 and 10.10, then because of 'unity' becoming the defualt desktop for 11.04, it was dropped.

@ danthemannewtolinux- dont even try 'unity' distros (11.04, 11.10) on your laptop (its an older laptop, not a 'betbook') from what you have said here-

There isnt really much point getting a 'netbook' version, it was pretty much just changes to the appearance, not the underling software.
