Unhappy Installed CentOS 5, when booting all I see is a mouse (loading)

I've installed CentOS lot's of times, but I've never had an issue like this before. It's just a black screen, and all I see is a mouse. I see some drive activity, but I gave it a good hour and it's just sitting there.

Not sure what to do here or what's causing the issue. There were no problems during the install.

I'm trying to install it on an old Dell PowerEdge 1900 server.

Edit: If I go to the console, top is showing X and gdm taking 10+% of the CPU and there's a high load. Which is odd because this is a fresh install..

Is it possible that the video card isn't supported by GNOME?

Can you slap a live-cd into it to see if it boots? That is to say, is that hardware working as it should, controller chip, graphics card, maybe trying with KNOPPIX 5.2.1 with cheatcodes?

I did livecd before I installed it.
Reinstalled GNOME, works now....

Edit: I did see this error though:

INIT: Id "x" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
