Installation Question

I just recently had HUGE problems with Windows XP and had to re-install my whole operating system. I lost everything and had to completely wipe out my Mandrake 9.1 installatioin. Now, I'm ready to re-install it again, but there's a compatibility issue between my hardware and DrakX. Last time I installed it, DrakX froze and the Num Lock and Caps Lock LEDs on my keyboard would just flash. I read somewhere that this was a result of having too much RAM (I have 1027 MB). I've been web-searching for an hour now and I can't find the solution for this problem anywhere. If anybody knows where this solution can be found, I would greatly appreciate just a website post. Thank you.

the stuff on this site might be more convenient. Look for mdk_91_fix.iso or something like that:

http://www.netikka.net/tmb/9.1/

make sure you write down the instructions and follow them.
