Installation Question

I recently bought the Red Hat Linux 9 Bible and per installation instructions I am to put the CD in and begin installation ...

My current operating system is Windows XP Pro, I would like to wipe out the operating system and load only Linux, how can I do that?

Thank you in advance for your help

Welcome to LQ.

Just pop the CD in the drive then reboot.

If it only loads windows and not the install program then go into your bios and set your PC to boot from the CD ROM. Thats all there is to it. During the install process you have an option to remove all existing data.
