Installation problem with KDE on Mandrake 9.1
I recently installed Mandrake 9.1 and had a problem with the installation of KDE.
Mandrake was unable to install kdebase-3.1-83mdk.i586
So I decided to burn another copy of CD1 and try again with the same results.
After this I re-downloaded the ISO and upon the 3rd try of the install, kdebase-3.1-83mdk.i586 again would not install.
The ISO's were verified to be fine with an md5sum check so I assume that it is either Nero or the CD-RW at fault.
As I do not have another means to burn another disc I would like to know if it would be a better idea to install KDE after from either an rpm or by source and if so which would be a better solution under Mandrake.
I'm new to Linux and I'm not too familiar with how to go about installing various software so any information regarding to the installation software in regards to Mandrake in particular would be much appreciated.
