Installation Problem w/Mandrake 8.2

I am trying to install Mandrake 8.2, have formatted the harddrive using Ranish partion manager, and have made a boot disk to boot from A:. If I try to do the standard install as well as the other options it gets to a screen that asks for the "Directory or ISO image file". I have tried everthing that I can think of and the user manual does not address this issue. I have looked through the forums and have not been able to find anything. When I have formatted the harddrive I have tried most of the options, FAT 16, FAT 32, Linux, etc. and none will automatically install, bringing me back to the question above. I am getting very frustrated!:newbie:

You don't need any other partitioning tool. 8.2 has one on the CD1. Boot it up. When asked, choose expert.

BTW, how are you installing Linux? From CD or from iso image?

I replied last night from home but do not see it posted so I am resending the reply. I am using the CD. My system will not boot from the CD ROM so I made a boot disk. This still brings me to the screen that asks for the directory or ISO image question. I was using the partition manager to delete everything from the harddrive. this last time I tried all I did was delete the partitions, saved, then exited. That still brought me to the same place. I will try the expert mode this evening. Hopefully this will work.

if your cd-rom is not bootable the you need to make a boot floppy with "cdrom.img" and restart the computer with both the floppy and cd-rom in the system and booting form the floppy.

to make the boot floppy you need to use "rawwrite" command in dosutils floder in the cd.
