Angry Installation problem. LILO prompt does not appear

Just planned to learn Linux.
Formated my spare HDD. Inserted the CD I got with "Learn Redhad Linux in 21 days".
I selected all defulat options for installing the Workstations. All went fine. It created an bootable floppy and ejected the CD.

On restart, it shows only "L". And does not do anything.. just stops there only!
What is the problem? What should I do to run LILO & see the prompt?

Hi,
Each of the letters of the LILO prompt during boot occurs in one of its phases. So, if just appears L, you got a problem in the very beginning of the booting procedure. Look this link http://programming.linux.com/howtos/...TO/a1483.shtm. You may boot with the boot floppy.

Hi amitsarode,

Welcome to Linux world

You said that you create bootable floppy, didn't you.
You can boot from floppy to load the linux system in to memory.
Open a terminal console ( you know how to, don't you ? ).
Type "su" and password to be a superuser
Then install lilo into your hard disk MBR by issue "/sbin/lilo' or "lilo -v" ( without quotes )
Re boot and hope you will be succeed to explore the linux world.
Hepo this help.

The link above looks dead. Try this one:
