Installation of SUSE Linux 8.2

Hello!

Could somebody help me with installing SUSE Linux 8.2 on a HP Pavilion ze5200???

The installation hangs all the time (latest after the braille-test).

I'm thankful for any hints! Did somebody install this version on the same Laptop successfully?

Have you chosen the failsafe installation? There are several installation options. Give each one a try in turn and see if it helps.

thanks a lot. but i've tried every possible option. even several boot options like "hwprobe=-bios.vbe -misc" and so on.
I finally got past the Hardware detection, but after the "braille"-stuff the software just quits installing, no working on hard disk or CD-Rom.....

check some of the installations out most hp of the pavillion zexxxx seem to make problems at installation.

your model is not there but look for similiar ones.
it helped me with my compaq

I downloaded Mandrake Linux 9.1

-> success on the 1st attempt!!!

i never found out the problem with the suse installer, but who cares?

only my modem and the ir-port didn't work from the beginnig.

I found the modem driver but nothing for my "ali fast ir-controller" so far, any ideas?
