Installation of Linux as application server

hi friends

Can any body send the procedure how to install the RHEL-5 as Application Server to run my java application on that, and also i need samba, telnet and HTTP services to be configures, I have RHEL-5 OS with me, my application is build in java and runs from tomcat at back end, can anybody help me please.

You can Install the RHEL-5 as usual as you do with the customized packages you used to install.

Then you need to download the latest "j2sdk" from and install it in /usr/local directory.
Edit the .profile(if you use) or .bash_profile of the user, from which you are going to setup the java and add the JAVA_HOME

export JAVA_HOME=/usr/local/j2sdk-1.x.xx
