installation log in linux


Where is the installation log file locates as solaries, in solaris most of the information goes to /var/sadm/install/contents.

Please assist.

I think the log file your looking for is in /var/log/syslog

Well I'm looking at my system now, it's Debian Etch, and I think the installer log file is, /var/log/installer/syslog
