Installation issues with Mandrake 9
Hi there...
My first post to this forum... I am trying to install Mandrake 9 onto a Toshiba Tecra 500 CDT. The first problem I had was the installation freezing on "PCMCIA - Please wait configuring PCMCIA cards..." but after surfing I found the answer. The problem is now that it keeps looping on the "Setup Filesystems" screen. The CD is going all of the time but it just doesn't move:( . Any ideas anyone. Regards Trevj |

Many thanks...
I`m afraid that I have been over a lot of pages - including the one you listed - for ideas before I came to LinuxQuestions.org, but to no avail... Many thanks anyway... |
I was finally able to install Mandrake 9.2 on a Toshiba Tecra 500CS with 64 MB RAM, 1.2 GB HDD, Pentium 120 doing NFS network install. It took many tries, but like you said it would "freeze" at different points during the installation process. What seemed to work is creating a large root partitiion and swap partition, with a correspondingly smaller home partition. If you need more details, feel free to respond.
