installation issues

I'm trying to install Mint 13 onto a computer already equiped with windows 7.

I'm receiving an error when I attempt to boot with my Mint installation disc in the driver. It says wubildr.mbr is missing. I've verified it's there in
C:\linuxmint\winboot

I read somewhere it might have something to do with UEFI. I don't see a way to turn off UEFI in my BIOS.

is there any way around this issue?

Are you trying to install Mint inside Windows using Wubi???
If so, I would suggest doing a real install of Mint to a dedicated Linux partition on your hard drive to dual boot with Windows7.

There are a great many tutorials around the net about this:
http://www.howtoforge.com/dualbootin...-linux-mint-12

If you just want to try out Mint without installing it, you can use the live CD for that.
I would avoid trying to use Wubi. Either use the live CD to try Mint out, or take the plunge and do a real Linux dual boot install!!

If you must use Wubi, I would suggest using Ubuntu instead of Mint, since Wubi seems to be much better supported on Ubuntu than Mint.
If you are intent on installing Mint on Windows7 using Wubi, see these for installing Mint using Wubi on Windows7:
