Installation hangs on "Who are you?" screen - Mint12, Mint13 and Xubuntu

Tried to install Mint 12. Hung when it got to the "Who are you?" screen. Entered username, computer name, etc. Pressed continue and looked like files were being copied. But screen freezes at this point. Tried to load Mint 13, same thing happened. Tried to load Xubuntu 12.04, same thing. Keeps freezing at the "Who are you screen?" Doing this as a fresh install on top of prior installations, i.e., telling computer to not save any past installation and overwrite all files.

Any ideas?

Never mind. Seems I need to not click "Continue" too fast. I noticed the system was copying files on a prior screen, the "Where are you?" screen (which is just prior to the "Who are you?" screeen). Seems that made the difference.

Now, onward to figure out how to use Linux!

I have recently tried install a Mint 12 in one of the units I don't remember I was challenge the same question of "Who Are You?".

Where did you get your iso/dvd copy?

Or when the installation initiates you are asked for a user name and a password: that moment you should give both and note it down else by reboot if you forgot you wouldn't be able to login. Take note that Mint doesn't offer convenience of "root" login: you have to login first as a regular user and issue "sudo" to perform root actions.

Go try again and check if it works.

Hope that helps.

Thanks. I don't remember where I got the ISO copy. Just downloaded from a link from the site. I have Xubuntu booting up now. Just have to figure out how to use and start getting comfortable with being off windoze!
