Being that Fed 11 is kinda unstable; I would use a stable distro livecd like ubuntu-8.04
to partition the disk, then install Fed 11 to pre-prepared/formatted partition.

But, what do you mean "by using my existing partition"?

Did you reformat, etc or did you do the auto-install?

there is a bug in the install cd and dvd .Some people have found that they can not change partition sizes . I would use the Gparted live cd
http://gparted.sourceforge.net/
to resize the partitions first then leave the partition as UNFORMATED
then install fedora 11

No I used one of logical drives in my windows HDD. I can delete that partition without having any trouble but try to create linux partitions, it gives exception and exit the installer.

Can I use fedora 10 cd to create partition and install fedora 11 on that partitions? can you explain little bit about that?.

Thanks your help.

as far as i know the bug is in removing the OLD partitions ,in that the parted program on the f 11 dvd/cd dose not work .
i have been using Gparted to UNFORMAT the existing partitions and use the install dvd /cd to format them to ext3 ( for the boot partition only ) and ext4 for / ,and /home .

this bug only affects some hardware.
