Installation error with RedHat on VMware
 

Let me start by saying I am very new to Linux and am in school for my IT degree. I am in a Networking class where we are learning about different OS and the first one is Linux (RedHat). I have installed VMware on my computer with XP professional so I can create virtual networks.

I inserted the first disk (I receiced 4 disks from school for Redhat) for RedHat linux and clicked on start virtual machine from VMware so it would boot from the disk. I was then given the option of conducting a media test of the disk prior to installation. I did this and received a pass. I then clicked the installation key. It went through a bunch of commands then I received an error; Fatal 10 error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server sending termination signal. It told me I could reboot. I tried the installation process again without testing the disk and met with the same results. I also tried to reboot from the second disk and received another error message stating that there was no bootable disk determined in the drive.

I have also tried to search for a resolution over the internet but haven't had much luck. I have been working on setting up my spare tower and trying to install this stuff all day and am getting quite fustrated.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

during the install you can press ctrl+alt+F1-6 to view different things. Each F-key will show you a different askpect of what is happening during the install
when it crashes go through all of the F-key screens and you should be able to see the error and the code that was run just before the crash...
