Installation error...

I just tried installing Mandrake 10,1 Community, and I got this error when I tried to resize my 80 hard drive.

ERROR: Your disk has bad sectors ( manufacturing faults or dying disk).
This situation isn't supported yet.

In windows I ran : chkdsk and Disk Defragmenter but got nowhere.

About a month ago I have MDK 10,1 Community installed but then my system crashed ( ya XP) and I had to reinstall and re format my HD. So I don't know why it says it could be dying disk or manufacturing faults.

Regards,
Michael

Your partitions table could be off. I find that if I use two different tools to create the partitions that sometimes errors come up. Like if you use the windows partition tool to create one partition and then use fdisk to create another errors sometimes pop up. Now I use gdisk from norton to make all my partitions, good tool. If there is nothing important on the disk I would just wipe out all the partitions and the mbr and start fresh, using the same tool to create all my partitions and then install each os into the partition I created for it. If it fails then you have a hard drive problem.
