Installation

Hi

I am going to re-install RH8 on a dual, can someone one tell me the best way to set it up (hdd configuration, packages to install etc) I am fairly new to linux had it on all my computers hard drive for ages. I want to setup a test system so I can play around with it, setting up the servers (mail, windows file server etc) creating a firewall accessing shares from XP machines, playing games on it etc.

What do you mean by 'dual'? A machine with 2 OSes? Or maybe 2 processors?

You need a program to partition your hard disk (make space for Linux). For a normal install 5GB should be enough (2GB too, but you won't be able to install everything).

Packages? You're going to play with it, so install as much as you can (and your disk space allows you). You'll learn more about them later (it takes 2-3 hours to read all the descriptions during installation, you can try it if you have time).
