Installation
Excuse my bad english.
I've 2 hd (hd1: 20 GB and hd2: 80 GB) and 512 MB of ram. Recently i have removed completely windows, and now i want to reinstall linux. I think: hd1: 10 GB / 10 GB /home hd2: 1.5 GB Swap 78.5 GB /download (for peer to peer) All partions in reiserfs. For you, it's ok? It's good to put swap in hd2? RK: I'm sorry another time for my english! |
swap can go where ever you want it to go it doesn't need to be bigger than 1Gb(some would say not bigger than 512Mb) when you have that amount of ram.
Reiser or ext3 its up to you ;) |
yeah 1.5gb of swap is over board, put that space to better use.

If you plan to be using alot of swap then having it on another drive might not be such a bad idea, there'd be thrashing of 1 HDD trying to do SWAP and your tasks.
Maybe :) |
ok, thank you all!
