Looks like the error means "no hard disk list found". Check Mandiva documentation at their website for more information.

I am doing a upgrade from mandrake 8.1!!! how do I install mandrive 10.2 from mandrake 8.1?

JSpired 05-08-2005 08:08 PM

I'd do a "fresh" install just because of the many upgrades since..

ofcourse u can install mandrive 10.2 as u installed mandrake 8.1!..and moreover since now in ur system swap, root (if boot is there then boot) partitions are already assigned, the new Mandrive 10.2 will detect those and u need not partition anything fresh, just install!

"NO HDLIST FOUND" indicates to me that you have a bad CD. The hdlist files contain information about what rpms are on the CD, available for installing. If the hdlist.cz file is missing or damaged, no installation can take place.

And I agree with the other posters that a "fresh, clean" install would be better than an upgrade. There are a *lot* of changes between 8.1 and 10.2!
