Install Zend on RHLE5 - Where to upload?

Hello,

I am trying to install zend optimizer on redhat linux enterprise 5, i am aware i must upload the .tar file and then use the following command in SSH:

tar xvfz ZendOptimizer-3.3.3-linux-glibc23-i386.tar

However, where exactly do i upload the tar file? Because i uploaded it to the root directory and when i tried the above it said not found. Ive tried most directories and it said not found.

Any help appreciated,
Thank you

Try

find / -name ZendOptimizer-3.3.3-linux-glibc23-i386.tar

Edit - note that since this is a plain tar file, you won't need the "z" in the tar options (ie use "tar xvf ZendOptimizer-3.3.3-linux-glibc23-i386.tar")

How are you trying to "upload" it. According to you, it isn't on your system (you tried that command as root?)

Thanks for replies, yes i uploaded as root using SFTP.

See screenshot :

See your command below (i also tried without the z as mentioned):

Just knocks me onto the next line, and shows nothing...

I can' read the pics - they're too small

No point trying to untar - the file isn't there. My point on the "z" was for when you find it.

I'd suggest you "upload" isn't working

Edit - is the filename correct?

try

find / -name "*ptimizer*"

Here is a fullsize showing the file is definately there, i uploaded using SFTP:

http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/c67113973a.jpg

I understand you meant about emitting the Z once found.

As you can see from above the file is there, is uploaded, but still cannot be found....

Everything is done as root user.

Glad you found it.

Usual place to stick this stuff in in /usr/src before you untar it btw.

Rgds
