install wireless usb drivers to backtrack
 

hi, i am newbie to backtrack.i have backtrac3 and it is not detecting my wireless usb. i have tplink TPLINK TL-WN722N I want to install its drive on back track.plz help me by answering with full tutorial plz i really need help.or you can send me tutorial to my email id.thankfull to you.

arslan4201, first let me welcome you to Linux Questions.
If you are new to Linux, I would not recommend Backtrac as the distribution to learn on. Backtrac is primarily designed for security penetration testing which requires a solid understanding a Linux and networking fundamentals. Backtrac is also commonly used for nefarious purposes and if these are your intent, you will find yourself VERY unwelcome in LQ. I would recommend that you familiarize yourself with the forum rules: link especially rule #13 which deals with this topic. I would also caution you that Backtrac 3 is out of date with the current release being 5 I believe. In general, one should not install out of date distributions as they often times contain many unpatched security vulnerabilities. My recommendation to you would be to look at using Ubuntu, on which Backtrac is based.

Every thread gets the same level of consideration and stating that yours is urgent or somehow more critical will likely earn you less priority.

There are also plenty of installation tutorials out there. Have you even tried to search for them? What have you found, what have you tried? What specific questions do you have from what you have read and do not understand? A forum should not be your first place to look.

BackTrack 3 is very old, and no longer supported. Try again with BackTrack 5, more than likely it will work out of the box.

If you mean wireless adapter, as I mentioned in my previous post, BT is Based upon Ubuntu which has good driver support and as MS3FGX it will probably work out of the box.

I will also reiterate my previous warning: BT can, and is often used for subjects that are prohibited at LQ and this includes wireless drivers for use in packet injection.

Backtrack comes as live-CD, why don't you just try it?

No one knows the names of all wireless cards that work with Backtrack 3's kernel. What is so difficult in just downloading Backtrack 5?

i tried backtrack 5 but during crackin wpa,wpa2 and wep keys iam not able to get handshake with client plz help me about this.
