Install SuSE 9 parallel to WindowsXP on a A7N8X-RAID system

My system is parted in the following way:
(Mobo: A7N8X; 2X WesternDigital 120GB stripped = 234GB in total [[2*120]/1024]*1000])
1st Partition 40GB (I want to install SuSE 9 here)
2nd Partition 194GB (with windowsXP installed).

When the SuSE installer starts up it tells me that it has detected an unredable partition table. How can I correct that?

The RAID chip on the A7N8X (nForce 2) is the Sil3112 from Silicon Image.
Could the new 2.6 Kernel help me with a better driver support? And if it could, how do I install it with the SuSE installer?

I have a feeling you can't install SUSE on your first partition if there's already something on your second partition. Or something like that.
Basically, you want to install windoze first on the hard disk then install SUSE.
It worked for me. After you have SUSE installed, upgrade your kernel to 2.6.0. You will need to check the box in xconfig to allow dodgy drivers to be installed because unless you want your hdd in PIO (slow) mode you have to install the SATA support for Silicon Image.
See http://seclists.org/lists/linux-kern.../Nov/3866.html for more infor on Sil3112A and SATA. It may also apply to normal IDE drives if you're using one. I don't know.
