Install SUSE 8.0 (ftp) fails on Probing Hard Disks
Hi,
I'm trying to get SUSE 8.0 to install on the following system: ASUS MotherBoard Celeron 2.6 512MB RAM Highpoint 1520 RAID Card configured with 2 DATA 120GB HDD Shared Video Memory The install runs OK, and I can add the driver for the ATA card (hpt37x2.o). However, when the install attempts to probe the hard disks, it hangs up, and the Caps and scroll lock lights flash on and off. I have tried the install in text mode, and with the following switches: ide=nodma apm=off acpi=off vga=normal but I still experience the same error. Has anyone else experienced this issue? It's driving me nuts :->. Thanks, Magz... |
Hi, thanks for looking.
I have given up using the SATA drives and the raid card. I have put in 2 120GB EIDE drives. These are picked up correctly in the BIOS and on the boot loader screen with no issue, but when it comes to the partition formatting they appear as 1.7TB! Can anybody help with this? It's most frustrating! Thanks, Magz... |
