Install single-boot Linux (Ubuntu?) on Mac Pro 4,1?

I do not know how to do this but would like to install Linux on a 2009 Mac Pro 4,1

I see instructions for other models, but my model is curiously missing..maybe mine is unsupported, or requires a special step to succeed..

Are there easy to follow instructions for a person who hasn't done this before? If so, can anyone point me to them?

You just download the Ubuntu install iso. Either burn it to DVD or make a bootable USB flash drive, and boot the machine with it. Then, when it boots, click the install button.
