Install screen Zapped or Fragmented and Anaconda freezes
So I was trying to install Fedora Core 6 on my AMD 3800+ X2 computer with anaconda and I found that the install showed a sort of fragmented splash screen and froze up. Anyone know what's going on? I tried the text install and when I rebooted into runlevel 5 the desktop background had the same 'fragmented' look and the computer freezes up. Anyone seen this before? Any fixes? I'm trying to install x86_64 which shouldn't have any problems... (I think)

did you check the download?

Perhaps it is the same thing that happened to me: no matter how I tried to install, at some stage the screen would freeze and show only cyrillic characters. I found out I had to install using "nodmraid". When the boot prompt shows up after you launch the installer, you can try adding this:
boot: linux nodmraid This was using a Core2Duo and an ASUS board; no idea whether your system will behave in a similar way. |
No, my disks are fine and my install was fine. I can operate just fine in runlevel 3, it's runlevel 5 that's killing me. No fix yet...
