Install Samsung printer manually in Ubuntu Server

Hey,

I have a Samsung ML-4500 laser printer that connects over parallel to a box running the latest Ubuntu Server 'Edgy Eft' 6.10. CUPS is installed as is the CUPS client. Samsung provide driver rpms for this printer, but the installation info is based on a GUI. I've managed to find a suitable PPD file, but I'm stuck trying to figure out how to install/configure the CUPS filter for this printer. Running lpr indicates a filter error. Can anyone help me? I /have/ tried the CUPS manual but nothing that helps me figure out how to manually configure/install a filter.

Cheers,

SiR G.

If you are using CUPS you are not using the LPD stuff.

Here is a link that might help.
