install progs easily on suse 9.1 pro

Hi folks. This question has been asked before but have found no answer.

Installing Software easily on suse 9.1 pro?

It took me like ages to get firefox installed and running though the help was avaIlable. I would love to migrate to linux but the installations are a bit achy. Is there any simple way (like windows) to get programs installed? If yes then I may move further to learn more about linux.

I would assume that you are using YaST (in SuSE9.1 pro) to install packages. Firefox is available as a package, and if installed via YaST, it should be a breeze. You first need to add a few online install sources such as
1.GuruRPM
2. SuSE9.1 FTP

These sources have frequent updates for new versions of software. Once you are set up, all you do is search for the package in YaST, click and you will be off and running...

If you don't mind me asking like a noob, "What is YaST?" and "Where should I find it?" and "How do I use it?"

Hit "SUSE" symbol right down on your desktop[like START in windows] > System >YAST

Yast should make it even much more easier then it ever could be in windows - installing software - updating software - checking dependencies ..

Firefox :

Save those 2 files to a folder - hit the ".rpm" package and install - or add as installation source the local directory ...
