thanks everyone.......im going to partition tonight with partition magic.



100mb linux-swap....everything else ext2




pray that it works.




ill try suse........ if that works ill try feora core 3 on another blank machine of mine

Can I ask why you are insistant on using partition majic or some partitioning tool on your disk before you try to install Linux?? The installation program on the linux distribution will do it for you as part of the install. All that you usually need is the install disks.

Smile My 2 cents

Just want to put my 2 cents in.... you may also try to download a utility directly from the manufacture, this normally is free and will recognize your HDD and format it. If that doesn't help, try what everyone has been stating, try another distro first, then partition magic or another formating utility (fdisk is simple). I've done it severals ways and have found each one to have pros and cons....

im doing FC3 rightr now....and guess what....it has autopartitioning.




i guess vector linux didnt have a partition utility :/



anywho.....its working soo far...
