install problem redhat 7.2/win2k

i got a bit excited and jumped the gun on setting up a dual boot. i have a 60gig drive divided into two partitions of 30, where win2k and apps "c:" and documents "d:" live.

then i set up a 20gig (lets call it "L:") that i installed redhat 7.2 onto - but in my excitement to get going i installed grub on "c:" - yeah, i know, that was stupid.

my question is: what now? reformat and fixmbr?

also, - what books do you recommend for linux newbies (i have redhat linux administrator's handbook, and redhat linux 7.2 unleashed).

thanks in advance,
ian.

do you have a boot diskette for RH? If so you can erase the mbr with
fdisk /mbr in DOS mode, and then use your diskette to boot into linux and reinstall GRUB, or I would suggest install LILO.
Regarding books question, these two are a good start, espacially the second one, so I'd suggest to get any linux book, which goes deeper into details later on. Linux in Nutsell is an excellent refference for command line. And don't spend money on anything that is available for free on net (my suggestion too), there is a moderator on these forums with screen name acid_kewpie; in his signature there's a link to a handful of on-line books, check it out.
And please, don't double post it confuses ppl, and sometimes ppl get angry about it, espacially moderators.

thanks for the suggestions, neo - i was able to get it back up and running.

i saw acid_kewpie's book collection - i'm very glad he's got those up.

didn't mean to cross post, i had just noticed that there was a 'installation' forum which seemed more appropriate.

well, i'm off to set up my dsl to work with rh.
