install problem


Hello, i am totally new to Linux. I am using Fedora Core 3 right now. But i dont quite know how to install software. I've downloaded xine rpm from freshrpm.net. But once i want to install it in my computer, it display error message........ Below are the error messages:

im not sure how you do it in fedora but you need to install the lib packages sorry i can't be much more help

That's right, you have to look for the libs' rpms, maybe try this as a beginning :
http://rpmfind.net/
http://freshrpms.net/
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/

I did quite the same recently, you probably won't need to install from the sources.

use yum. to figure out how to use it do "man yum" at the terminal.

Go to dags website. Follow the instructions for setting up his yum repository. Once you have done that do "yum install xine" as root in a console.
