Install NetZero Dial-up under Ubuntu on Laptop
 
I searched and found lots of threads, but all were older - most very old.

I gave my SIL my second ACER 5000 Laptop and he installed Ubuntu on it and it is (he says) working fine.

But he does not know how to install NetZero and get it working so I can use it (Dial-Up).

I have a 3G Paid Account I am using under Windows at the moment, but want to switch over to Linux/Unix environment.

I have used Netscape dial-up successfully under Windows and could, conceivably) switch back to them.

But, as my wife uses the same account - whatever I choose needs to work under Linux/Unix and under Windows as she does not want to switch OS's just yet.

So, is there a way my son-in-law can get our Netzero working under Ubuntu?

PS: I did a search "netzero" here before posting and returned zero results.

Hi, and welcome to LQ!

Here is the NetZero homepage.

They appear to be web-based, IOW nothing to install. Just set up the account, then enter the specs into your dial-up (PPP) manager.
