Install Mandrake 10.1 Official with 2.4 kernel

Hi,

I'm quite a newbie with linux. Could you tell me how to install Mandrake 10.1 Official with 2.4 kernel?

My network adapter doesn't work with 2.6 kernel, and I'd like to install the system with 2.4.

This is what I've tried:

1. I started the installation with the floppy disk that I made from image cdrom.img ( its on the cd 1 ).

2.. I booted with the floppy and pressed F1 when there was an option ( F1 or Enter to continue, cd 1 was in )
3. I typed: " alt0" ans pressed enter but it says: " No kernel image found" So I changed cd 2 in and typed again: " alt0" but again: " no kernel image found"

Could anyone tell me how to install Mandrake 10.1 Official with 2.4 kernel. It always install the default 2.6. I've also tried to select LSB in the list where you select the components to install, but it still doesn't install the 2.4 kernel like it did in the 10.0 commynity when I selected LSB option.

I'm very glad to get some help and I really like linux!

You can boot your system only with one kernel (every time), but you can have installed all the kernels you want and switch between them at boot time so, why don't you proceed installing with 2.6 and then install 2.4?

I am not sure about mandrake, but it should be as easy as installing package kernel-2.4.something.rpm
